Strategic Planning and Budgeting Committee (SPBC)

Purpose

Serve as an advisory committee to the President regarding matters related to the strategic plan.

Members include administrators, faculty, staff, and students.

Responsibilities

The mission and tasks of the SPBC include the following as it relates to the strategic plan:

Planning and Assessment:

-Review/Affirm/Revise the strategic plan objectives.

-Review the strategic plan appendix, identify institutional progress towards meeting goals, and make recommendations about strategic priorities, based on plan metrics.

-Oversee development of the next strategic plan.

-Conduct bi-annual SWOT analysis.

-Serve as community advocates for the strategic plan.

-Ensure alignment of the annual major goals with the strategic plan.

Budgeting

-Review annual operating budget for consistency with the strategic plan.

-Recommend resource allocations in support of strategic plan goals and priorities.

-Review institutional annual reports in order to recommend resource allocations in support of the strategic plan recommendations and strategic institutional recommendations.

-Oversee the strategic initiative grant process.

Membership

The Strategic Planning and Budgeting Committee includes two voting members of the faculty elected annually by a majority vote of the faculty and one member of the Faculty Senate elected by the Faculty Senate.

Two two-year memberships (staggered)

 

Term of Office for Faculty Senate Representative (subject to term limits)

One one-year membership
