The President
Selection
The Board shall appoint the President of the College. Faculty representatives are elected by the faculty to serve on the presidential search committee.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Mount Saint Mary College Bylaws establish the President of the College as the executive agent of the Board of Trustees and the Chief Executive Officer of the College. The President thus has the responsibility and authority to supervise administrators and faculty. Unless by specific directive of the President of the College, the proper channel for communication between the Board of Trustees and officers of administration and faculty of the College is through the President of the College.
The President of the College shall establish an Administrative Code for the College to indicate in some detail the manner in which the President is delegating responsibility and authority to the various administrative officers and to the faculty of the College, and to indicate the channels, procedures, and regulations for the conduct of ordinary business of the College. [T]he Administrative Code shall be established and modified solely on the authority of the President.
The President has been empowered by the Board of Trustees to appoint officers and committees to assist in the running and planning of the College.
Evaluation
The President is evaluated by the Board of Trustees as outlined in the College Bylaws.
