Curriculum Committee
Purpose
The Curriculum Committee acts as an advisory body on matters of academic policy, procedures, and standards of the College, and is responsible for curriculum planning and curriculum evaluation. The Curriculum Committee must approve all for-credit and required courses.
Responsibilities
- Advise and assist in setting up the structure for building and maintaining a curriculum that will best attain the objectives of the College.
- Receive, consider and make recommendations concerning curriculum changes submitted to it by academic divisions/schools of the College.
- Make recommendations to the Faculty Senate and/or the full faculty concerning additions to and modifications in the curriculum, in testing and grading practices, in teaching methods, and in other instructional matters having a bearing on the effectiveness of the curriculum.
- Develop and maintain a mechanism to monitor and update the advisement process.
The Chair of the Curriculum Committee serves as a member of the Program Development Committee (Approved Senate proposal 1819-03).
Membership
The School of Business, School of Nursing, and the library elect one representative each. Each division within the School of Arts, Sciences, and Education elects one representative each.

Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs
Director of Digital Learning and Instructional Design Services
Two student representatives who will be recruited by recommendation of committee members and selected by the committee after application.
One non-voting member from Admissions.
One non-voting member from the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP).
Terms of Office for Faculty
One-year membership, not subject to term limits.
