Library Committee
Purpose
It shall be the duty of the Library Committee to assist in developing the library as a relevant and responsive campus resource. The Committee acts as a conduit for information, suggestions, and questions between the library and the rest of the Mount community.
Responsibilities
- Advise on ways to ensure that library resources, services, and spaces are relevant to the needs of MSMC students and faculty, Advocate for the specific needs of the various academic disciplines.
- Promote library resources, services, and programs and support library initiatives.
- Contribute to library assessment efforts.
- Support information literacy within the curriculum and encourage faculty to utilize the library's instruction services.
- Assist in efforts to recognize faculty/staff/administrator publications, including an annual recognition event.
- Advise on policies, regulations, and schedules pertaining to library use.
Membership
The Director of the Library (or his/her designee), two faculty members (each representing a different academic division or school), and two student representatives. All members have voting privileges.
Terms of Office for Faculty (staggered and subject to term limits)
For faculty:
One two-year membership
One three-year membership
For students:
1-year term, with multiple terms permitted
