Knight Summer Bridge Connections (KSC) Co-Coordinators

Report to:  Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs (AVPAA)

Compensation:  Stipend for each Co-Coordinator, in spring and summer, to be determined by the VPAA.

There are two Co-Coordinators for the KSC program, one from Academic Affairs and one from Student Affairs.  The Academic Co-Coordinator is selected via the process described above.  The Student Co-Coordinator is typically the Director of the Office of Student Success, but could be another Student Affairs staff member, selected in collaboration between the VPAA and the VP of Students.

Knight Summer Connections is a summer bridge program designed to facilitate the academic success and college transition of first-year students.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Administer all aspects of the program.
  • Consult with AVPAA, Deans, and Chairs to identify strengths and weaknesses among incoming students and devise strategies for improvement and reinforcement during KSC.
  • Manage program budget.
  • Coordinate with AVPAA, VP of Admissions, VP of Marketing, Registrar, and Director of Student Engagement to set the KSC schedule following the academic calendar and plans for Summer Orientation.
  • Create a robust program schedule.
  • Represent Knight Summer Connections at Admissions events.
  • Serve as the primary points of contact for prospective KSC students and their families.
  • Be available and on-call for the duration of the program.
  • Mentor the next Co-Coordinator(s) at the conclusion of service in the position.
