Director of the Honors Program (DHP)

Reports to: Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs (AVPAA)

Course release/teaching load: One course release per semester; 18 credits regular load per academic year (fall and spring semesters). Unless negotiated otherwise, the regular load is spread equally over both semesters (e.g., 3 courses per semester)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Administration of the Honors Program
Work with Admissions and related departments at MSMC to develop and implement marketing initiatives for the program, and to select students
Responsible for the annual Honors budget
Chair the Faculty Honors Council
Oversee Student Honors Council
Schedule Honors courses and facilitate student Honors research
Mentor the next Director at the conclusion of service in the position.
