ED 5054 TESOL PRACTICUM & SEMINAR
Students in the TESOL Program will complete this practicum as a final step in order to meet the NYSED TESOL Certification requirements. This course is designed to help teach candidates refine their skills as teaching TESOL professionals. Within this course, students will integrate conceptual foundations, theory and research into planning and executing lessons. Seminar topics incorporate effective instructional planning strategies, materials reveiw and adaptation and the management of ENL classes. A faculty member will observe and evaluate teacher candidates' teaching performance.
Twenty days of appropriate in-school classroom experiences are required. In addition to the practicum placement, weekly seminar and tutorials will be required.
