Degree Requirements
A minimum of 37 credits is required for the MBA. Note, however, that since the Accounting BS/MBA Program is a 5-year track only available to MSMC undergraduates, waivers are provided to students for all of the Additional Foundational Core courses.
The credits are distributed as follows:
- For Accounting/Business Administration BS/MBA, core courses are 28 credits not including the 6 credits in capstones, and one required elective
- For Accounting/Business Administration BS/MBA, 3 credits (one course) of elective credits;
- For Accounting/Business Administration BS/MBA, three semester hours of the capstone course, MGT 6510 CPA capstone course, and three semester hours of the MGT 6600 capstone course.
Required Core Courses
The core curriculum provides students with a background in understanding of the basic tools and techniques employed by contemporary managers, with a working knowledge of the various functional areas of business and exposure to the larger environment in which businesses must function.
For the Accounting/Business Administration BS/MBA, the following 34 semester hours of core credits are required.

Elective Courses
Students must confer with the Graduate Program Coordinator in planning their selection of courses and the sequencing of courses. These courses reflect the liberal arts emphasis and the general management perspectives of the program.
For the Accounting/Business Administration BS/MBA, three (3) semester hours of elective courses are to be chosen from the following.
Required Capstone Course
The comprehensive capstone courses for the program are the culminating experiences designed to integrate the entire graduate experience of students in the program.

Degree Completion
Since the Accounting BS/MBA Program is a 5-year track only available to MSMC undergraduates, student enrolled in the 5-year track Program, and who follow the recommended 2 courses per session course load, should be able to complete their MBA in one calendar year (summers included) following their graduation with the BS degree.
