MGT 6071 MANAGEMENT FOR NON-PROFITS

This course is an introduction to non-profit organizations with emphasis on students gaining a broad overview of this important segment of both our national and regional economies. Topics covered include the history of non-profits in the United States, characteristics of non-profits and what makes them different from for-profit organizations, governance issues including the responsibilities of nonprofit boards, principles of issue of importance in the contemporary business world. Students should select and have their research projects approved by the MBA Coordinator before taking the course.
