Sports Management BS/MBA (4 + 1 Program)
Students who complete the full 4 + 1 course sequence will have experienced an integrated program in Sports Management with graduate studies, incorporating liberal arts strengths with contemporary business and Sports Management studies. The BS in Sports Management/MBA program at the Mount is designed to prepare students for careers in diverse settings within the sports industry by providing them with skills, abilities, and competencies that allow them to thrive, succeed, and lead within the industry of sport.
The undergraduate program provides students with the professional knowledge needed for key business disciplines, within the context of a comprehensive liberal arts education. The undergraduate Sports Management program provides an internship experience that is largely experiential, involving work with organizational clients and requiring integration of the major business functional areas, including finance, law, marketing, management, and accounting.
Undergraduate Sports Management students are eligible to declare the 4 + 1 BS/MBA Track through the semester in which they have accrued 90 career credits. It is important to note the minimum GPA requirement for admission into the MBA year. Upon the completion of 90 credits, BS/MBA Track students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.85 or better, which, if not met, are then required to revert to the traditional 4-year BS degree in Business Management and Administration (BS). Additionally, to qualify for the MBA 4 + 1, students must have maintained a cumulative GPA of 2.85 or better through graduation. Special circumstances are subject to review and discretion by the Dean, Chair and/or Coordinator.
