Layoff
The PSC will report its findings in writing to the faculty member, VPAA, and President. If the committee’s findings support the faculty member’s allegation(s), in whole or in part, it may recommend that the President reconsider the suspension or the dismissal for cause. The President’s decision is final.
Layoff is a severance action by which the College terminates the services of a faculty member before the expiration, or at the end, of their current contract, without prejudice as to their performance.
Reasons for layoff are:
- Prolonged mental or physical illness
- Financial exigency
- Program/Department Discontinuation
- Reallocation of Teaching Responsibilities of School/Division/Program Personnel
