Documentation of Professional Development

Professional development encompasses those activities performed by the faculty candidate to keep abreast of new ideas and changes in the discipline or profession. It includes such activities as formal degree study; post-doctoral studies; sabbatical; attendance at conferences, professional meeting, seminars and workshops; professional reading and the like.

  • Formal Degree Study: Include the separate progress report relative to the pursuit of one’s terminal degree.
  • Post-doctoral studies: Include the name of the university, dates, nature of the courses taken.
  • Sabbaticals: Describe the goals and activities undertaken.
  • Conference Attendance: Documentation of conferences, seminars and workshops attended and participation in conference activities may be submitted. Include attendance certificate or CEU’s awarded.
  • Professional reading: Include a listing of professional journals read regularly.
