Online and Correspondence High School Admissions Information
Mount Saint Mary College recognizes that some students may choose to complete an alternate path to achieve their high school program of study. The Office of Admissions will make an admissions decision on the high school transcript provided. However, students who have attended an online high school may require additional steps before enrollment.
- It is important to note that each state will have different rules regulating the awarding of a high school diploma via an online or correspondence program.
- New York State does not recognize online or correspondence high school programs as fulling the diploma requirements for NYS students.
- NYS students who complete online or correspondences high school programs can successfully complete the GED and submit the official score report to be officially recognized by NYS as having completed the requirements for high school graduation.
- Students whose permanent address was out of state during the period time of where they attended an online high school should check with their state department of education to determine if their program of study is recognized by their state.
