Teaching Award for Innovation and Technology
Teaching Award for Innovation and Technology
Purpose: To present an award to a MSMC full-time or part-time faculty member for outstanding contributions towards teaching with innovation and technology.
Description: Mount Saint Mary College identifies itself as a teaching institution. Faculty members, including full-time and part-time, spend considerable efforts to find innovative ways of using technology to improve student engagement and learning outcomes. To recognize individual faculty member efforts, the Academic Technology Advancement Committee (ATAC) proposes creating a yearly award to honor faculty members at Mount Saint Mary College for using innovation and technology in teaching. The award recipient is to be chosen based on a variety of criteria.
Eligibility: Current full-time or part-time faculty members who have taught in MSMC at least one year are eligible for nomination. Consideration will be given to those faculty members who have not won this award in the previous year.
Selection Committee: A sub-committee of ATAC will serve as the selection committee. The sub-committee will consist of four members, including three faculty members and the Director of Digital Learning and Instructional Design Services. In order to remain unbiased, members of the selection committee are ineligible to nominate or to be nominated for this award.
Award: The award recipient will be honored with a monetary award of $500 (supported by the VPAA's Office). The recipient will be honored at the MSMC Discover Day.
