EXS 3000 SPORT PSYCHOLOGY

This course examines the psychological and behavioral underpinnings of individual motivation behind personal engagement in movement, fitness, individual sport, team and/or extreme sport. Topics to be explored will include body image, motivation, personality and movement choice, team and group dynamics, and the psycho/social impact of exercise and sport. Though the focus of this course will be on normal behavior patterns associated with sport and exercise, recognition of abnormal and/or pathological behavior and movement patters will periodically be addressed.
