CHI 1020 ELEMENTARY CHINESE II
A continuation of Elementary Chinese I. Further develops listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in Mandarin Chinese with an emphasis on communication in everyday contexts. Topics include making appointments, academic life, shopping, and transportation. Students expand vocabulary, grammar, and character writing, and deepen their understanding of Chinese culture and history. Mastery of the tonal aspects of the language requires regular practice with audio and video materials. Closed to students from countries where Chinese is the official language.
