NUR 4071 NURSING AND THE BUSINESS OF HEALTHCARE
This course explores healthcare economics, business operations, and policy, emphasizing nursing’s role in resource optimization and regulatory influence. Students will develop financial management skills, apply leadership theories to team management and staff development, and implement quality improvement (QI) strategies to enhance patient safety and care outcomes. Topics include healthcare reimbursement, legal frameworks, strategic planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and emerging technologies. Through real-world applications, students will gain the skills to drive organizational growth, improve healthcare delivery, and lead nursing initiatives effectively. This course is offered for students in the RN-BSN program only.
