Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL Certificate)

The Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program is designed to provide NYS certified teachers with the essential skills and understanding to meet the needs of multilingual learners. This 15-credit advanced certificate is designed for teachers to complete fieldwork in their own classrooms along with an assigned mentor. This program will prepare future educators to understand and implement equitable and effective ways of working with English Language Learners (ELLs) in a variety of contexts, including inclusion in content/general education classes, sheltered-ESL classes, and pullout classes. This program will lead to NYS TESOL teacher certification.

*Candidates for this program need to hold NYS Certification in another content area ( Students with Disabilities, Childhood, etc. )
