REL 2005 THEOLOGY, IMAGINATION & ART
The study of God is readily found in the intentions and influences of artists and their art. From the design of cathedrals to the curating of a poem, painting, or symphony piece, ‘imagination’ bridges the material world to the perceived, unseen potentials of God and the human person. This course offers a study of both human history’s questions of and devotion to the unseen God through the manifold relics of human intuition and ingenuity in the arts, and how the arts preserve a space of creativity to ask and answer theological questions.
Prerequisite
Students in the major should have already completed the foundational courses:
REL 1011, 1300, 1050, 2010.
