PSY 3700 EFFECTIVE STRATEGIES FOR DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION
The course will focus on concepts and skills in teaching students with disabilities, at risk for disabilities, or who may face challenges in school due to other factors. The main emphasis will be on instruction planning, utilizing evidence-based practices in special education, universal design principles, and differentiated instruction. The goal is to provide meaningful access to general education classrooms and curriculum for students with disabilities. The course will cover various topics, including specialized teaching methods and strategies, making accommodations in both classroom and individual student settings, using cooperative learning to promote positive social interactions among students with and without disabilities, and developing skills to collaborate with colleagues and parents in supporting the development of these students.
