NUR 5330 ADULT GERONTOLOGY ACUTE CARE III

This is the third in a sequence of three courses that explores, at an advanced level, the pathophysiology, assessment, diagnosis, and collaborative management of patients encountered across the continuum of acute care settings. This course will also include interactive simulated experiences with acute multi-system problems. In addition, advanced invasive procedural assessment and simulated demonstration will be performed. Each student demonstrates his or her ability to analyze, integrate, and synthesize pathophysiologic concepts for collaborative management of acute health problems in the adult and gerontologic population; case study analysis and write-ups, interactive simulated experiences, content quizzes and a comprehensive didactic content examination satisfy course goals. This course centers on current theories, practice and research central to advanced knowledge and practice in nursing care.
