Degree Requirements
A minimum of 34 credits is required for the MBA.
For the MBA Management Program, a maximum of 55 credits may be taken, subject to waivers which may result in a minimum of 34 credits being taken. See waiver policy under Admissions.
The credits are distributed as follows:
- For Business Administration BS/MBA, and MBA Management Program, a minimum of 22 semester hours of core credits
- For Business Administration BS/MBA, and MBA Management Program, 9 credits (three courses) of elective credits
- For Business Administration BS/MBA Program, and MBA Management Program, three (3) semester hours of either capstone course, MGT 6530 or MGT 6600.
Required Core Courses
The core curriculum provides students with a background in understanding of the basic tools and techniques employed by contemporary managers, with a working knowledge of the various functional areas of business and exposure to the larger environment in which businesses must function.
For the Accounting/Business Administration BS/MBA, the following 28 semester hours of core credits are required. For the MBA Management Program, 28 of the following semester hours of core credits are required (MGT 5080 shall be excluded).
For the MBA Management Program, the following additional 18 semester hours of core credits are required, subject to the waiver policy under Admissions.

Degree Completion
Based on the most recent data, 70% of students typically complete the Master of Business Administration degree within three years of entrance. The vast majority of students typically complete the pre-capstone course work within two years. Students enrolled in the 5-year Business Administration BS/MBA Program, and who follow the recommended 2 courses per session courseload, should be able to complete their MBA in one calendar year (summers included) following graduation with their BS degree.
