PSY 3301 MANAGING BEHAVIOR IN SPECIAL EDUCATION OR MAINSTREAMED SETTINGS

The course will focus on identifying problems and developing procedures for effective classroom management to foster school learning in pupils who have disabilities or problems in social adjustment or impulse control. Individual and group discipline problems will be addressed with an emphasis on identifying and structuring the antecedents and consequences for pupil behavior. Includes functional behavioral assessment. Approaches for preventing school violence will be included. Includes field work and an applied project with pupils identified by teachers as having behavior problems.

C+ or better in ED 2051; Grade C+ or better in PSY 3401 and 85% or better on all three Educational Proficiency Examinations.
