SCI 2040 INTRODUCTION TO COMMUNICATION DISORDERS

This course is an overview of biological, psychological, and social bases of human communication as well as the nature of deviations and disruptions to normal speech, language, and hearing. Basic principles of diagnosis, intervention, and prevention will be reviewed, which will provide inspiration and discernment for students considering pursuing Speech-Language Pathology after graduation. This course is one in a series of courses for Allied Health Speech Pathology track, enabling students to pursue Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or seek employment as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant following the undergraduate degree.
