ED 4400 UNDERGRADUATE RESIDENCY 1
Residents/Apprentices shall complete the first half of their 1000 hours of supervised instructional experience. Residents/Apprentices work closely with their mentor teachers (School-Based Teacher Educator), gradually moving from observation of and assisting in the classroom (co-planning) to assuming more responsibility for the teaching day (co-teaching). During this experience, they will learn about the school and community resources and expectation and begin teaching small group lessons and some whole class lessons.
Prerequisite
All applicants for student teaching must be matriculated and recommended by the division as having evidenced potential for effective teaching on the elementary school level. All coursework must be completed with a C+ or better, and the student must be in good academic standing.
