Allied Health, BS
The Bachelor of Science in Allied Health prepares students for the dynamic and expanding healthcare landscape by combining a strong foundational core in healthcare systems, introduction to ethics in healthcare, and cultural competency with two specialized concentrations (students must choose one concentration).
Concentration 1: Science & Health offers a rigorous pathway for students seeking graduate study in clinical fields, as well as a robust alternative for those who are interested in healthcare but not necessarily nursing or bedside medicine, or for those seeking an alternative to the study of Nursing.
Concentration 2: Healthcare Management & Administration, focused on the business and operational side of health organizations.
Program Requirements
Students pursuing the Allied Health major must complete all foundational courses and support courses.
Students must choose from one of the two concentrations below.
Required Foundational Core Courses (19 credits)
Required Support Courses (12-13 credits)
Concentration 1: Science and Health (24-26 credits)
Students pursuing this concentration must also complete:
- One college level Chemistry course (at least 3 credits)
- One 3000 or 4000 level Psychology course (at least 3 credits)
Concentration 2: Healthcare Management and Administration (24 credits)
Students pursuing this concentration must also complete:
3 credits of HCA, HCM, or HSR course(s) 2000-level or above
