Transfer Credits
A minimum of 30-33 credits of the 42-47 required must be taken at Mount Saint Mary Colleg students enrolled in the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program may request the transfer of up to 12 semester credits from another accredited graduate institution. Students enrolled in a Post-Master's Certificate program may request the transfer of up to 9 semester credits.
All transfer credits are subject to approval by the School of Nursing. To be considered for transfer, students must submit:
- Official transcripts;
- The course syllabus from the semester in which the course was completed; and
- A detailed course description, if requested.
The Graduate Coordinator will review the submitted materials to determine whether the course is equivalent to a required course in the Mount Saint Mary College curriculum. The School of Nursing's determination regarding transfer credit is final. Student may not matriculate n the program until determination of transfer credit is completed.
To be eligible for transfer, a course must:
- Be comparable in content to a required course in the applicable curriculum;
- Have been completed at an accredited graduate institution;
- Have been completed within five years of the student's matriculation at Mount Saint Mary College; and
- Have been completed with a grade of B (3.0) or higher.
