CRI 2450 THE UNITED STATES COURT SYSTEM

The focus of this course will be on the introduction of the court system of the United States. This course will present both the differences and similarities within the state and federal courts as it pertains to their structure, function, goals, and processes. A primary focus will be placed upon understanding the respective roles played by judges, prosecuting attorneys, defense counsel, police, probation officers and other court-related personnel in seeking justice through the criminal court process. Additionally, the course will investigate the impact of the court system on American society.
