HIS 4420 ENGLISH CIVIL WAR
This course examines the causes, events and results of the English Civil War in the mid-seventeenth century. Specifically, the course analyzes the struggle between the Stuart monarchs and Parliament; the financial crisis of the early 1640’s, the outbreak of civil war; the course and events of the war; the capture, trial and execution of Charles I; and the formation of the Commonwealth and Protectorate. The study tour in England features trips to civil war sites.
