HON 2521 HONORS: SCI AND TECH MTHDS FOR CLD ED
Candidates will study methods for teaching science in childhood classrooms—including physical, life, and earth and space sciences—as well as concepts in science and technology, science in personal and social perspectives, the history and nature of science, and the unifying concepts of science. Candidates will create lesson plans that integrate math, science and technology, and the inquiry processes scientists use in discovery of new knowledge to build a base for scientific and technological literacy, including the role of data and analysis. Instructional approaches and assessment tools will be demonstrated and applied in field experiences. Fieldwork is required. Prerequisite: 85% or better on all three Education Proficiency Examinations; one science laboratory course.
